Economic Development

As a small business owner and educator, we must do more to support entrepreneurs and our small businesses because they are the backbone of our economy and employ nearly half of all Floridians. We must invest more in early childhood and pre-k education and encourage a stronger emphasis in our public schools on STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, the arts and math). We need a strong, robust infrastructure in order to ensure our economy keeps moving.
Additional Key Issues:

  • Job training for youth
  • State funded and supported Internships & apprenticeships
  • Digital literacy and workforce skills development
  • Building, expanding and empowering small business owner infrastructure, sustainability and scalability
  • Minority, veteran and women owned business support and growth
  • Small business incentives and economic relief where available

Quality Education

As a mother of two children, Cynthia is very passionate about ensuring every child has access to a quality education in safe, thriving, state-of-the-art schools with smaller class sizes, better summer and after-school programs, and more technology in the classroom. And, she will push for more programs that help schools combat bullying.

Cynthia is a strong proponent of early childhood education and is working across the aisle to ensure every child in America has a strong start and more opportunities. Studies show that investments in early childhood education save communities money in the long term, reducing homelessness, hunger, poverty and crime. Cynthia will fight for more investments in early childhood education.

Cynthia will also continue to push for a greater emphasis on STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) and more public-private partnerships to ease the transition from school to college to the workplace, including more support for career and technical schools.

You can’t have good schools without good teachers, which is why Cynthia supports giving teachers the tools, training and resources they need to adapt to a rapidly-changing global economy. She will also push for commonsense reforms that free educators from teaching to tests and encourage more innovative approaches to learning.

Healthcare

Health care costs continue to be one of the biggest burdens on families and seniors. One of Cynthia’s top priorities is to help bring down the costs of health care for families, seniors and businesses.
Additional Key Issues

  • Free access to testing and care for Covid-19 and public health emergencies
  • Community Health education and support
  • Neighborhood Pharmacy & Access
